This recording is kind of painful to listen to. I have gotten caught in these retention pools before. I don’t know why any company still uses this tactic. I guess it still works often enough, but I have made an extra effort to avoid business with companies who do it.
For the record, I disconnected my RCN service recently and it was incredibly easy. They were polite, efficient, and didn’t force me to explain myself. I kind of feel guilty leaving them given how great they were. I fell to the temptation of FiOS, but now I am kind of regretting that decision. But that is a post for another day.
I am sure Comcast will say the employee needs training. Because its always the trainer’s fault.
